The .AL extension is the Albanian territorial extension. This was created on 1992 and it's managed by akep.al. At first it was restricted to Albanian Companies, but now is possible to register albanian domains even for companies and individuals outside the country.
Domain Restrictions
Restricted to Albanian residents and corporations
For Albanian commercial organizations or foreign organizations with a permanent legal representative within Albania. Starting from the day of the registration of a domain name the “possessor” is allowed 15 days to make any possible changes/corrections of a spelling mistake on a registered domain name or information regarding the contacts. After the above mentioned period, the request for changes/corrections of a domain name is considered as a request for a new registration, and as a result has to be accompanied by an application form for a new registration.

Registrations
.al domain registrations are immediate.
Transfers
To complete .AL domain transfer, you'll need your current registrar to provide you the domain's AuthCode or EPP-Key to verify the ownership of the domain.
Transfers can take between 5 and 7 days to complete. Some registrars provide manual transfers allowing transfers to be completed on the same day, contact your current registrar to find out if they offer this service.

Renewals
Renewing your .AL domain only takes a minute and can completed at any time.
Cancellations
It's possible to request a cancellation of your .AL domain, visit the support center to open a support ticket. Please note, cancelling a name does not provide a refund of any registration fees.
DNS modifications
DNS modification is immediate, please note they must propagate through the network, this process can take up to 6-12 hours to complete, until then the domain will still point to the previous DNS servers.
Domain owner change
Ownership changes are done manually and have additional costs, contact us via ticket in case you're interested in it.
Permitted characters
.al domains permit characters from 'a' to 'z', numbers from '0' to '9' and hyphens '-'.
A hyphen '-' is not permitted in the first or last position of the domain name.
Two consecutive hyphens are not permitted in the 3rd and 4th position.
