How do I configure mail accounts in Outlook Express?

To configure your mail accounts in Outlook Express, follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Go to the "Tools" menu and click on "Accounts".
  3. Click on "Add" – "Mail".
  4. Follow the configuration wizard, and enter the following data:
    Name to appear: Your name.
Email address: email of the account you are configuring (of the myacount@mydomain.com type).
    Incoming IMAP mail server: imap.dondominio.com.
    Incoming POP mail server: pop.dondominio.com.
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.dondominio.com.
Account name: the login that appears in the control panel.
Password: the one that appears in the control panel.
You must not check the using of secure password authentication (SPA).
  5. Click on More Settings and select the Outgoing Server Tab.
In this tab you must check the first box of "My SMTP server requires authentication" and the "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server" option. 6 At the "Advanced" tab you can configure the security and connection ports of the incoming and outgoing servers.
On the incoming server, you must select to use an encrypted SSL connection, if you have chosen IMAP you must use port 993 and for POP, the port is 995. In the case of the outgoing server, an encrypted TLS connection must be selected, with port 587.

Once we have followed these steps the account should function correctly.
