First steps to transfer a domain
What is the AuthCode? The AuthCode or EPP Code is a code or password the actual registrar must provide you and will be necessary to accept the transfer of your domain in case the domain is a .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ or .INFO, amongst others. You'll find more information in the page of every extension.
To transfer your .ES domain you'll only need to have access to the e-mail account of the domain's administrative contact. You'll receive an email from RED.ES to accept the transfer and after a few minutes you'll be able to manage the domain from your Client Area.
There are other extenions, normally territorial (ccTLD) that don't follow the same guidelines. That's why we recommend you to acces the information of the extensions of the domain you're about to transfer to know its functioning. More information
The owner of a domain can transfer it **at any time** to another registrar via a service provider (MrDomain), due to reasons of cost, service, etc.
**Most of the registration companies register the domains thru another ICANN accredited registrar**, so it's possible that the processes can be slowed or impeded because of this situation.
With **MrDomain** you have the guarantee to work directly with an **ICANN accredited registrar**. There are only 13 accredited registrars in Spain.
The duration of the transfer **depends of the extension** of the domain. As a reference, a domain .COM, .NET or .ORG will last **5 to 7 days**. In the case of an .ES the duration can last **15 to 30 minutes** once it has been accepted for the administrative contact.
During the transfer process the domain **will remain operational at all the time**.
If **keep the DNS** the process will be ** totally transparent **. In the case that you assign others DNS or you contract a hosting once it ends it **will point to the DNS** the hosting will be activated and you will have **create email accounts and / or upload your Web to the server**.
