.GAL is an extension that will provide a common point for all the Galician language and culture (like .EUS or .CAT domains already do).
Web pages hosted under a .gal domain must be in Galician or related to Galician culture.
The creation of this domain is promoted by the Puntogal Association, a non-profit organization established on June 10, 2006, other Galician entities also joined the promotion, like the Real Academia Gallega, the regional television of Galicia or the University of Santiago de Compostela.
