Steps to transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info or ngtld domain
Before you begin the transfer it is essential that you have the AuthCode of the domain in order to accept the transfer. You must request this code from the current registrar.
If you already have it, click on Domains -> Transfer domain tab, enter the domain to be transferred, then access to the shopping cart, edit the contact data and select a Hosting plan if you so desire.
Accept the domain transfer
1. Introduce the domain Authcode or EPP-Key
Once the transfer has been requested, access your customer area and accept it introducing the Authcode from the domain management tab, using the "Accept transfer" button.
2. The Registrant needs to authorize the transfer (FOA or "Form of Authorization" process)
From that moment on, the current domain registrant needs to authorize the process, we send an e-mail to the e-mail address that appears at the domain Whois record (this process is normally known as FOA or "Form of Authorization"), in this e-mail the registrant will find a link that will lead him to authorize this transfer process.
If the current domain registrant doesn't accept the transfer in 5 days, the transfer is automatically cancelled.
3. Wait for it to complete
Once authorized, the transfer is automatically completed in a maximum period of 6 days (some registrars allow to accept outgoing transfers manually, if this is your case the transfer should be completed in only a few hours once accepted).
Can I change the e-mail address to authorize the transfer?
If you don't have access tho the registrant e-mail address (we look for the information that is shown when making a Whois search against your domain) to accept the transfer process, it is necessary to update this information in your current registrar. Once the e-mail has been changed, contact us in order to restart the transfer process with this address.
If you prefer it, you can update the e-mail account of the administrative contact of your domain in case you also don't have access to it. If you contact us using our ticket system we'll resend the e-mail to this account instead of the registrant.
I didn't receive the authorization e-mail
In case you didn't receive the authorization e-mail, you can request us to resend it directly from your customer area, using the "Resend e-mail" button that appears at the domain management area.
If you're going to use our hosting plans
If you are going to transfer your hosting service to us, you should do a backup of the files that make up your website and the databases (if you use it) so you can upload them to our servers. If your website uses databases, you will have to edit the configuration files to point to the new database. Also consider that the e-mail accounts are not transferred, so you will have to create them here, if you don't want to lose your old e-mails, you should download them to your pc with an e-mail program.
