Windows Live Mail is the Outlook Express replacement electronic mail client. This program is pre-installed in the Windows Vista operating system, although it can also be used on other Windows operating systems by downloading it, freely, at http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

To configure your mail accounts in Windows Live Mail, follow these steps:

  • Open Windows Live Mail
  • Go to the Tools” menu > ”Accounts.
  • Click on Add” > “Email account

    Enter the following details:

  • Electronic mail: email of the account you are configuring (of the myaccount@mydomain.com type)

  • Password: the account password
  • Name to appear: Your name
  • You must check the manually define the server configuration” option

    Enter the following details:

  • Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com

  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.yourdomain.com
  • You must not check receive via secure connection
  • You must check that the outgoing mail server requires authentication

Once you have followed these steps the mail account will function correctly.
